Now I know you typically come to Bright Side for the most cutting edge political analysis on the web but instead I'll start your morning off by talking about sports.  So sit back, relax, and read about some professional basketball while you pretend to go through your work day (while you're really thinking about Game 2).

Tuesday May 4th Playoff Results:

Orlando Magicians 114 Atlanta Hawks 71 (Recap)Orlando had been off for roughly 5 weeks (or 8 days) after their sweep of Charlotte - but it didn't matter.  Atlanta trailed by just two at the end of the first but the Orlando defense clamped down and held the Hawks to just 21 points in the next two QUARTERS to end the competitive portion of the contest.  Dwight Howard finally managed to stay out of foul trouble for an entire game and posted 21/12 with 5 blocks to lead Orlando.  Not really much to say about this one other than Atlanta shot 34% from the field and looked uber-horrible.  Perhaps there is a bit of residual fear of the deer.

Los Angeles Lakers 111 Utah Jazz 103 (Recap): For all the talk about how horrible the Lakers are it's a SHOCK that they are just two wins away from the Western Conference FInals.  Oh wait, it's not a shock at all.  Kobe Bryant scored 30 to lead LAL while Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum added 22 and 17 respectively.  Paul Millsap led the charge for Utah with 26 but the Jazz couldn't overcome the fact that they simply cannot get a rebound from the Lakers.  In fact, Los Angeles outrebounded the Jazz 58-40 - getting 15 from Gasol and Lamar Odom (who recorded a double-double) and 14 from Bynum.  Odds are Andrei Kirilenko will be back for Saturday's Game 3 but unless the Jazz can quickly turn the two-headed "monster" of Kyrylo Fesenko and Kosta Koufos into something that doesn't suck, this series will be over shortly.

Conference Semifinals Series Standings:

(1) Lakers v. (5) Jazz: 2-0 Lakers

(3) Suns v. (7) Spurs:  1-0 Suns

(1) Cavaliers v. (4) Celtics:  1-1 tie

(2) Magic v. (3) Hawks: 1-0 Magic

Wednesday May 5th Playoff Game:

Game 2 - Spurs @ Los Suns:The Game 1 win was nice and all but Game 2 is just as important.  San Antonio has a pattern with these things, they don't care if they get both games...Pop just came for 1.  Go get 'em gents.
