Now that Amare has opted out, the next few days are going to be nuts. But that's OK, we've been through his a few times before at the trade deadline in February, last summer around draft time, the trade deadline in 2009 and the summer when KG almost came to Phoenix.

It remains unclear if the Suns offered Amare a four-year extension (for a total of five years) which would have paid him about $4m more than the five-year deal any other team could offer. If so, than Amare and his agent must think they can get another team to offer a six-year deal and put together a sign-and-trade package that entices the Suns. In the short term, those details don’t matter. "The offer isn't where it needs to be yet, but we've had a good open, cordial dialogue with the Suns,'' Walters told the Website about Stoudemire opting out of his $17.6 million deal for next season and becoming a free agent Thursday. "Like Dirk Nowitzki (of Dallas) and Paul Pierce (of Boston), we're exercising the opt out and we'll see what presents itself for Amar'e on the market.''

Another one bites the dust....I am going to laugh my ass off if LeBron stays in Cleveland or even if LeBron and Bosh go to Miami or Chicago together and leave New York and New Jersey and the Clippers out in the cold.
Oh, and don't sleep on Houston. I could totally see them making a hard push for Amare and they actually have some interesting pieces they could send back in a sign-and-trade. On the other hand, if you're the Suns do you do any deal with a Western Conference foe?

Jefferson opted out the $15.2 million he was due next year, according to KSAT news in San Antonio. This came as a surprise to just about everyone.

Sports.Stoudemire is competing with Chris Bosh and Carlos Boozer to join Dwyane Wade with the Heat... The Suns have offered him a five-year maximum contract with injury protections in the fifth year. Nevertheless, Stoudemire has been slow to commit to Suns owner Robert Sarver, whose financial commitment to compete with the Western Conference elite has been unclear.
