NBA Playoff Action Open Thread - Sunday, May 22. The Defense Doesn't Rest.

The Heat and Bulls square off in game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals tonight in Miami, after the Heat took home court advantage with their win in Chicago Wednesday. Taj Gibson provided a big lift to the Bulls in game 1, and Udonis Haslem responded by making a major contribution off the bench for the Heat in game 2. Expect to see more physical, aggressive defense from both teams tonight, as the Heat didn't break 90 points in either of the first two games.

Shaun Powell of describes the reasons this Heat team perfectly fits Miami sports fans. "Miami has always been about the glamour and hype."

Derrick Rose made a controversial statement about the use of steroids in the NBA, and I'm sure he and the rest of the Bulls don't want to let it become a distraction right now.

I was excited to learn that Mark Jackson interviewed with the Warriors for their vacant head coaching position, imagining how great it would be if he got the job and we no longer had to listen to him call games on ESPN. Then I realized that if he got it, I'd have to listen to him addressing the local media here all the time. Well, unless you live in the Bay Area that's not your problem, so feel free to hope the Warriors hire Jackson.

Tonight's game:

Bulls at Heat, 5:30PM PDT, TNT. Series tied 1-1.
