NBA Playoff Action Open Thread - Saturday, May 21. A Loss Won't Mean the End of the World.

After losing a game for the first time in nearly a month, the Mavericks will attempt to rebound tonight against the Thunder in Oklahoma City in a critical game 3 matchup with the series tied 1-1. The Mavericks' bench usually provides them an advantage, but it didn't in game 2 Thursday night as the Thunder bench outscored them 50-29, led by James Harden's 23.

The Russell Westbrook saga took another interesting turn when Thunder coach Scott Brooks went with Eric Maynor instead of the all-star Westbrook down the stretch in game 2. Westbrook is taking a lot of criticism for his allegedly selfish play, but his teammates continue to support him.

James Harden is on a short list of former ASU Sun Devils who have made an impact in the NBA. Others include Byron Scott, Eddie House, Lafayette "Fat" Lever, Alton Lister and Isaac Austin. As a former Laker and current coach of the Cavs, we know Byron Scott. But you might not know about Fat Lever. Beyond having a cool name, Lever was a two-time all-star who had hands that would make Jared Dudley proud.

Tonight's game: Mavs at Thunder, 6PM PDT (assuming the world doesn't end then), ESPN. Series tied 1-1.
